Merry Christmas 2022

It has been a unique few days leading up the Christmas.  Some family matters have thrown a kink a usual time of joy and merriment.  In a way its given me some better things to focus on, what is imporant, what is the reason for the season and all.

Nevertheless wanted to take a moment to just mention to any that read, you are valued, you matter.  Merry Christmas.

P.S. I didn't hear Santa Clause and His Old Lady this year, so I am listening as I type.

A Day to Remember - Orpheum Theater, Boston MA December 09, 2022

A Day to Remember
Friday, December 9, 2022
Orpheum Theater,  Boston MA
Support: Wage War

Thursday evening I got a text from a good friend.  "What are you doing tomorrow?" In looking I had nothing, which not to sound arrogant, is sort of a rarity, especially during hockey season.

"Nothing" was my response followed with the "Whats up?".

My friend had an extra for A Day To Remember and wanted to know if I would be interested.

Full disclosure, I know next to nothing on the band,  Couldn't name a song if I had to type deal. I was available, hand't seen my friend in some time and it was live music, so why not?

We arrived to the Orpheum Theater shortly after Wage War took the stage.  Oh, I should have added this is an "acoustic" tour so that means really most of the band members sit down when they play and lean more on their acousitc guitars, but everything is amp'd up regardless.

Wage War was fine.  Fitting right in with the vibe of the room and enjoying the unique experience of seeing a band this way.  They played about 45 minutes and were excited to have had the chance.

A Day to Remember followed.  The band, from Florida, has a core of four guys but added three more for the gig to fill things out.

I will admit I was very much entertained.  The band has been performing for 19 years (20th in 2023) and they are prolfic, sound good and are engaged with the audience,

The audience remained seated for the bulk of the show, but fans were losing their minds throughout.  That is one of my favorite parts.  Not that odd way of people watching, but seeing people just so over taken by the music and atmosphere they just cut loose.  I'd like to see a full electric show of theirs and have to admit the songs did "work" acoustic if that makes sense.

Here is the setlist if you are interested:
Mindreader
City of Ocala
The Downfall of Us All
I'm Already Gone
Rescue Me
Degenerates
Everything We Need
Good Things
Only Money
I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What are you Made of?
Resentment
F.Y.M

* Song was made up on the spot where the band was singing about working at Hot Topic and Kyle being a bad manager

Doors were 7
Wage War 8-845
A Day to Remember 915-1045

I'd go again for sure.  I think hanging my friend was a huge plus, but they have piqued my interest for sure.
