I Shoot From the Hip Now Fist Raised In The Air

Hope you might check out Forgotten Disc Friday.

This week is a band that I just love. I never seem(ed) to go to this record all that much so it sorta was the logical choice for the old "front to back review"

Hoping to post MP3's to the site again soon, but this crackdown has me worried I'll lose all my old posts.

Hope you might stop over and check it out.
Have a happy and safe weekend.

Hatian Relief show..TONIGHT

The effects of the January 12 catastrophe in Haiti still reverberate. Berklee College of Music reaches out to the country with the Berklee Concert for Haiti on February 23. Special guest musicians from Open Access to Music for Children (OAMEC), a Haitian community program from Youth and Family Enrichment Services, is part of this fundraiser event that starts at 8:15 pm at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Ave., Boston.

Proceeds from the concert will go to several organizations including Mercy Corps. General admission tickets are $10, and are available at the Berklee Performance Center box office. For information, call 617-747-2261 or visit berkleebpc.com.

This will be an evening of outstanding performances ranging from reggae to old school soul and folk rock. A highlight of the show comes from Open Access to Music for Children (OAMEC), which provides low-cost music education to the children of 100 Haitian families and looks to extend these resources to children currently being relocated to Boston from Haiti. OAMEC representative Geralde Babeau will speak about the way this organization is helping the Haitian community and ways to contribute to that effort.

I Live and Die Don't Ask Me Why....

Hope you might check out Forgotten Disc Friday.

This week a band that never really go to be too big in the States. They had some modest hits, and the title track of this one might get your brain buzzing.

Hoping to post MP3's to the site again soon, but this crackdown has me worried I'll lose all my old posts.

Hope you might stop over and check it out.
Have a happy and safe weekend.

jónsi of Sigur Ros hits the road, awesome video

Today I was poking around Facebook when I came upon a tour production video for the solo tour for jónsi. jónsi is the lead singer of Sigur Ros a band that I have a great passion for.

I clicked the link and sat and watched and was just in awe. The show arrives in my fair city in early May, towards the tail end of the North American leg of the tour. It looks just so amazing, if they even come close it will be just so visually stunning.

The lone downside to this, is the local venue is more a "standing room". This would have been perfect at a smaller theater where we can sit and watch it. "Club shows" tend to be more of a chatty, beer drinking affair so it can really sour the mood.

If everyone were to watch the video before going to the show(s) perhaps they'd keep quiet.

Behold the awesomeness that is what to be on stagehere

You can check out his solo site here. Tour information, video and audio.

Dig in, thank me later.
