a revelation...

This past weekend KK came down for the afternoon with his daughter. KKs wife is out of town and Mrs March was working the evening shift so we both were looking for "something to do". KK and his daughter came down and we had a real good time. The 2 Marches played well with little K. We ordered pizza, rode bikes, had popsicles..you name it. good times.

After KK left I was outside just picking up and I realized how fun it was. It was very simple. The kids pretty much entertained themselves. Sure, we needed to be "alert" since we had the kiddie pool going but still the kids just were kids, we had a tad bit of "conversation" (KK and I) and we were outside.

I am guilty of always feeling that need to entertain my kids. It feels like we always need to be going some where and doing something, but days like this make you realize, you really don't.

So true man. Unfortunately even getting together with neighbors always needs to be an event it seems. Maybe when the kids are even a bit older there will be more of letting them run loose while the 'rents kick back a bit. Or single dads are the ones who know how to chill! You just know things would have been much different with the wives present.

for me, feeling that kids need to constantly be entertained is due to feeling bad for them that they can't run all over town like we used to do since who knows what evil lurks around the corner. i'm afraid to let them too far out of my sight.

sometimes the world pisses me off.

don't be afraid hotwire. there really is nothing to fear, but fear itself. just remember a couple things...child abductions are at an all time low! when you remove family members from the equation the chances of your child be abducted are basically zero. also, school violence is lower than ever.

however, Fox News would have you believe your kids are at risk of being kidnapped or shot any ANY MOMENT! BE AFRAID...on don't forget to tune in at 10!
